I don’t ache the same

My neck aches without you.

It ached with you too, but now each and every pang continues on a grander mission.
They throb and echo into the misshapen heart that is mine and used to be ours.

None of me lets go.

  1. As I’m sitting here with a heating pad on my own neck, your piece really speaks to me. 🙂 Seriously, though, it’s very well crafted. I like the way you bookend the piece with short phrases – it lends them extra weight. Nicely done. Thanks for linking up with us!

    1. Thanks, Christine! I hope your neck feels better soon. When I worked at a desk job I kept a tube of Biofreeze handy to help me get through the day haha.

      1. I crashed my bicycle last week – thus the neck pain. I’m off to the doctor this PM to make sure I didn’t do anything terrible to myself. 🙂

    1. I didn’t even realize it until someone pointed it out! But that sentiment must have been hiding in my feelings behind the writing and snuck in there haha.

I'm not your grandmother - talk back to me!
