Waiting all day for night
to fall
Waiting in the night for our eyes
to adjust
Waiting behind our eyes for our vision
to focus
And wondering.
The wait is over and the journey begins
Beyond our eyes and into the skies.
This is my take on Yeah Write’s 42-word Gargleblaster prompt (a hat tip to the best drink in existence in theΒ Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy series) for this week: What’s so amazing that keeps us stargazing?
I like what you did, and it went so well with your photo too.
I like the repetition here; very nicely done!
Thanks, Natalie!
Lovely! I really like the idea that we wait “behind our eyes”.
Thank you! That feeling of leaving limits behind is one of the things that draws me to stargazing.
“The wait is over and the journey begins
Beyond our eyes and into the skies.” Great line and lovely photo!
Thank you!
I really like the last line.
Thanks, Michelle!
The stars are a worth the wait! Beautiful piece.
I agree π . Thank you!
I loved the rhythm of this. Very cool piece!
Thanks, Larks!
I love how you take us from the physical to the spiritual in one stanza. That’s just fabulous. And I am absolutely in awe of your photo – I so admire people who are visually creative.
Thank you! I was so glad that a friend happened to be admiring the moon in a perfect position for long enough for me to take this picture π .
This leaves room for the imagination. I want to hear about the journey. I love it!
Thank you! And really, thank the stars for being so awesome in the full sense of the word!
No more waiting! I want to know what’s beyond our eyes and into the skies!
Haha I can’t wait for some summer stargazing π
Lovely! Great use of repetition in the first stanza β which contrasts so nicely with the last stanza. Gorgeous picture too! π
Thank you! I feel like stargazing is such a contrast to daytime life, so it felt natural to write about it differently.
The Negev, filled with mystery. Love it there.
Me too! I have never seen such a star-filled sky since then, though they didn’t come out until after I took that picture.
